Happy Chinese New Year

Last year I walked around with my newborn in my sling (and my jacket wrapped around him) and I frequented the firework stands to buy my little man fireworks.  This year he's walking, says MORE MORE and is my smiling bundle of joy. 

And I've only found one stall that sold fireworks and they were almost all sold out.  It seems as though people are suddenly considering fireworks "dangerous!"  Can you believe it?  I really wanted to have the family experience of lightint our own little firework fountains.  I bought one little round of fireworks for 5 kuai. We did have a family lighting fireworks experience, but they didn't all go off and it wasn't that exciting.  The fountains are much nicer:)

So we're enjoying the festivities and are finding the streets empty, apart from people walking around carrying boxes of fruit or eggs to give away to their family and friends (really).  Hope you get to see a few clips of the fireworks out here and have a festive evening yourself.
