Today we went to the "Up in the Air Park." Luke's Chinese students and our Chinese friends kept talking about the park and suggesting that we go there. We've been to a bunch of the different parks here so thought, let's give it a try. We went with our friends, neighbors, Kate and us. Kate is enjoying China and it was a good non-pollution (blue-sky day) so it was nice to have a good view of our city. We found out that the "Up in the Air Park" (they all call it that!) is actually like a quasi-amusement park. I didn't know what to expect, but we found bumper cars, Mickey Mouse, lots of people, brides and grooms getting their pre-wedding photos done, food booths, a pool, Snow White and more. It was an interesting experience, perhaps not really what I'd consider a "park" in terms of grass and areas to run and walk, but definitely an interesting place.
We're enjoying the English papers that she brought and are reading more about what's going on in Greece and election news. It's sure a lot different to read a hard-copy of a newspaper than to read news online. Day 2 of enjoying all the treats that she brought and time together.
Hope you all had a great weekend! Over and out!
p.s. For those who wonder if Chinese babies really do wear diapers, I'll be on the hunt for some good photo to share. Stay-tuned.
And some papers (everyone's reading at the moment.. I'm finishing this and then will grab a paper.. or perhaps a book.)
Hanging out at the "Up in the Air Park"
