Controlled Crying & help along the way

Guys, William was doing really well at night.  He had been sleeping through the night for about a week, allup until last night.  He woke briefly at ten, settled himself, and we thought that everything was ok.  I could hear my upstairs neighbor snoring, and then he really woke up again at about eleven/twelve.  We were in bed, wondering what to do, when the neighbors above us started pounding on the floor.  Not ideal circumstances for controlled crying.  Luke went in to tell him everything was ok (he screamed louder after that), we turned the baby monitor off, asked for William to be comforted and soothed and tried to get some more sleep.

William and I had an early start catching the first train out this morning.  I was a bit wary to leave so early, travel with William and leave and return all in the same day, but it all went quite smoothly.  People repeatedly picked up my bags in the stations and helped me carry them.  We had to wait in a massive cue for a taxi (there were probably about 200 people waiting and it was a push-forward or let about 100 people/minute go in front of you-kind-of line.)  People took the extra things out of my hands (his backpack that he really didn't want to be in, etc.) and interacted with William.  On both journeys, we sat next to lovely women.  William was overtired and totally stimulated with all the people and new things to see. He can be a handful and I really appreciated their help.  We were blessed!

Luke had a good English class.  He enjoys his students and being with them.  Thursdays are long, but he comes back encouraged.

We are far away from where the earthquake hit.  Thanks for all your concern.  It wasn't felt where we are.  Some people are scared and worried about whether there will be tremors or other earthquakes.  I got a phone call today from a friend telling me to go outside at 1:30 pm because she had heard from someone that there was going to be another earthquake.  Just rumours.
