He's born

We're proud to announce that our son was born on the 3rd of September at 1:14 AM. He weighed 7 lbs 5 oz. He's doing great. It was a normal delivery and Christina was in hospital two nights.

Over here in the UK it's pretty much all mid-wife led care. They were great. Most of the labour happened here at home. We went in at about 8:30 pm on the 2nd. They broke Christina's waters at about 10:30 (since they hadn't broken earlier and they wanted things to progress more) and at 1:14 AM he was born. Daddy cut the umbilical cord and during labour was putting cool washcloths on Christina's forehead. He was a great support!

Now we're enjoying him at home here in Nottingham, England along with Grandma and Grandpa Tschohl (John and Pat), Uncle Matthew and Paul Winter. They all try to be the one to hold him! It's been nice for them to see him when he's so little and DS did a great job of arriving on time! We're enjoying this time together.

We love being parents! We're learning what his routines are and well, basically that at this point in time, he doesn't have one! He likes to be awake at night and finds daytime to be his main sleeping moments. We have a Moses basket next to our bed and it's pretty hard to convince him that he needs to sleep in there at night.

Next week we go to the US embassy to apply for his American passport. In the meantime we'll sort out his English passport and he'll soon be a dual-citizen.

We hope that you enjoy the pictures. Thanks for anticipating his arrival, for being part of everything and celebrating with us this new addition to our family!

Sending our love, greeting and we send a special hug to you all..
